YEAR 1.
Sports Mentoring Programme
Each child will spend a year in the Sports Mentoring Programme, alternating between one-on-one and group sports sessions, weekly.
When a child develops the interest and motivation to engage in a particular sport, Hoa Motuhake will enrol the child in an appropriate club, team or class, and the mentor will start taking them to their sport each week. This can happen at any time throughout the year once the child feels ready and their confidence in their sporting abilities has increased.
What we provide:
Mentoring: 80 hours which includes up to 20 one-on-one sessions and 20 group sports sessions
Consistency of a positive role model over a sustained period
Trying 15 new sports throughout the year
Transport
Snacks
Sports equipment for each child - shoes/bike/gloves/football etc.
Sports fees paid for each child playing community sport
Birthday card and gift
Christmas party – including present, food and entertainment
2 x Sporting events: Attending Rams Basketball and Crusaders Rugby Games
