Courtney Tairi
We want YOU to be our ambassador!
Kia ora Courtney,
We’re reaching out from the Hoa Motuhake Sports Trust, which focuses on empowering tamariki through sport and mentorship.
Your journey as a Silver Fern, broadcaster, and advocate for young women in sport makes you an incredible role model. We’d love to have you as an ambassador to help inspire our tamariki to embrace who they are and believe in what’s possible. Your voice and presence would mean so much to us.
Please see below for further information about Hoa Motuhake and becoming an ambassador!

Our kaupapa is grounded in the belief that all tamariki deserve the chance to play sport — regardless of their circumstances.
Who we are.
Hoa Motuhake provides a 5-year Sports Mentoring Programme for at-risk and disadvantaged tamariki aged 8-12 years. We remove key barriers to participation and use sport and mentorship as a vehicle to build resilience, confidence, and connection – empowering tamariki to thrive and break cycles of trauma and adversity.
Our 5-year Sports Mentoring Programme pairs tamariki with volunteer sports mentors to:
Build confidence
Break cycles of trauma
Open doors to brighter futures
The key barriers we remove are COST, TRANSPORT, EQUIPMENT and CONFIDENCE.

Statistically 1 in 3 tamariki in care will serve time in prison later in life.

Become a Hoa Motuhake Ambassador.
Ambassadors are our advocates and role models, chosen for their dedication to sporting achievement or their commitment to supporting sports development for youth. They embody the Hoa Motuhake belief: sport can change your life for the better.
Role models in sport are crucial. We all have our heroes we look up to; stars who inspire us to strive, lead with grit, and work as a team. As we grow, we never stop looking up to them. Their achievements and example continue to inspire us throughout our lives.
What Our Ambassadors Do.
Ambassadors play a vital role in cultivating support for our mahi, increasing visibility of our programme, and fostering a shared understanding within their social circles, workplaces, and communities.
We ask our Ambassadors to help us give at-risk tamariki a hand up. This could include:
Promoting our programme and sharing our campaigns across their social platforms
Attending events to help raise funds for our programme and support our sports mentors
Joining us at a sport event once or twice a year to inspire tamariki - giving them a chance to meet their heroes!
Connecting with our tamariki and mentors to see first hand the value of this mahi
Our Commitment to You.
To honour your mahi and support your journey, we offer the following:
Recognition; Featured profile on our Hoa Motuhake website, social media, and in our newsletters, public mentions and gratitude expressed at events, and a certificate of recognition annually.
Merchandise; Hoa Motuhake hoodie, tee, and cap included in an ambassador starter pack.
Community & Career; Highlighted to potential sponsors, and happy to provide references. Opportunities to lead workshops, run sport sessions, and host / co-host events.
Training & Connection; Training workshop opportunities, invite to our annual Christmas Party, Mentor Get Together, and professional sports events.
If there is ever something you need, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

“Through my whole childhood it was sport that pulled me through. It was the one constant, and it always brought me happiness. It’s where I found friends, a sense of belonging … I’d play anything to get those good feelings.”
— Ruby Tui, Black Ferns
